Baby, It's Hot Outside

Well, spring is here, and today it feels like summer- being well into the 80s. While drinking my coffee this morning, Adam started screeching LOOK, while at the window. I did, only to see the neighbors 4 horses go through the yard. Interesting. She didn't answer the door when I went to tell her, but did answer the phone when I called. She came and got them, without even a thanks. Nice.

Not much crafty going on- too busy with the house and getting ready for Girls Weekend.

I wanted to take some pictures of the flowers in my yard, but haven't... this time of year there are wild violets everywhere. They are such a pest, but they are so pretty on the back lawn.

Update on the Maine property: the seller wants an additional week to find somewhere to live... Not sure what that means, other than because the property has sat for so long that she hadn't been out looking. Which is WEIRD to me. But it sounds good in that she might accept our bid.

Have a good week, I'm off to Georgia on Thursday. Bringing Don some Tim Horton's, and Shelby something Scooby Doo.

It Was A Loooooong Ride

So we headed to Maine this past weekend. My husband drove U-Haul full of stuff to put into storage, and I followed behind him. By myself. For 12 hours. With 2 kids. Yeah....

Jason was buckled in, really. He thinks it's cool to pull the shoulder strap down when he thinks I can't see him in the rear view mirror. Actually, the kids were really good. They did as best they could for being so young.

We landed at my in-laws, and we thoroughly enjoyed their company. The kids had a blast roasting marshmallows, although Adam did touch a hot rock.

We looked at two properties, each completely different than the other. Chris has had his heart set on the one, so WE DID IT. We put a bid in. I doubt the seller will accept it. Her property, although large, is grossly over priced. It's been sitting on the market for over 6 months, with not a single offer. We're keeping our fingers crossed.

I have another mover coming today to give me an estimate. Then, it will be off to my mom's to see the new pony foals.

Enjoy the day! Lee

PS- the mover never showed. No biggie. The foals are SOOOO cute. And the seller's realtor (whom we've met too) is meeting with the seller and her son on Thursday to discuss our offer. Is that good or bad??

PSS- a few more pictures:

the barn looks like it should be torn down.
the front sitting room
one of the bedrooms. Check out the pumpkin pine floors- to DIE for.

It's a Dog Eat Dog World

Or something like that... Our dog, Duchess, recently had two trips to the vet- one to get her shots, the other to be spayed. NOT CHEAP. ($600)

In the meantime, she has some irritation on her neck, which I think started from the electric collar. Well, when I took her in for her surgery, they shaved it, stating it was a hot spot (I thought it was too early for a hot spot, but whatever).

So now, in it's pristine no-hair state, she can scratch it BLOODY. Great. So, we're off to the vet again. I'm hoping for some steroids. More $$. AND- it get's even better, since she can't wear the collar right now, and who knows when she'll be able to, we may have to buy a pen. EVEN MORE $$. Arrrrrrrrrrrgh.

Somebody remind me that I love this dog, and so do the kids- even with the d@mn dog hair everywhere. And the holes in the yard.

Help me. xoxo Lee

Friday

Well, it's official when Chris signs the papers tonight- the house is on the market.

This is the modified kitchen- moved the fridge (after removing cabinets). New tile floor.

I love these bathrooms! The upstairs one we just finished- darn it!

Keep your fingers crossed.

Check back over the weekend, I have Julie's book to work on!
