These Are A Few of My Favorite Things

Think about how the internet has changed our lives. We chat with people around the world, we look of facts in an instant (man, this would've have been a great help with term papers), we see rooms in houses that we love, we see art that we admire. Here are just a few things I love:

Lynn Perrella's journal pages are so inspiring! She has images and colors that just saturate the senses. She makes me want to break out the paints!
this came out so small, go see her site for the full effect!

Natalea Kandefer, who I had the pleasure of meeting last year, does the most amazing journals. She has recently been showcased in Artful Blogging, and you can see why! Hop on over to her blog and her etsy shop Kandeland. You'll love it.

Lori, over at My Faerie Window, has the most amazingingly sweet felted bunnies for sale right now! She has as style all of her own- sweet and vintagey and girly- one I just can't seem to master- LOL. She makes other great felted items too, check out her shop.

Enjoy- Lee

Who's Chicken??

I just ordered some chickens. We have 12 acres, a huge barn, and a coop already in place... so why not? They'll help with bug control, hopefully tolerate the kids, and give us eggs.
I ordered 10 Araucana hens (think blue green eggs):

10 mixed sex Birchen Cochin Bantams,

and 6 mixed sex White Crested Black Polish. Aren't they hysterical? They won't be here until May, due to the fact I wanted specific breeds. That will give us plenty of time to freshen up the coop.

Enjoy your weekend!

Sympathetic Ear Fabric Collage

This is my second fabric collage. It has been a lot of fun to work in another media. I can certainly see how collecting fabrics can be both addicting and fun. Nursing is a passionate profession. It's hard, at times down and dirty, and very rewarding. It's the perfect subject for my series.

I love the blue floral fabric, and it was hard to cover it up. This got about 3/4 done, and then I got stuck.

It took me a few days, with lots of fabrics moved around, details put on and taken off, until it was finished.

I love metal bits, and this brass pin is no exception. I have a little stash of them, as they are getting harder and harder to find. If you have any in your stash you'd be willing to part with, let me know. Maybe I have something in my stash you'd trade for?

The lace doily came in a little goody bag I bought at the Farm Chicks show this past summer.

I used dress pattern paper for the paper in back of the photo. The bodies at the bottom reminded me of medical books. The edges are inked, not burned.
Don't forget to book your slot soon in my Fall Art Retreat, featuring KC Willis. Then you can come visit me, and give this wonderful medium a try.

A Little Bit of This....

Just a quickie update:

We've been busy here. Adam turned 4, and morphed into Spiderman.
sheer joy! He has worn this costume non-stop!
climbing the walls, with the dog looking on.
We cleaned out and area at the back of the barn. Yesterday was just perfect weather, over 50 degrees, a little air moving, and sunny! The boys helped all day, and passed out right after their bath. Even Dushess, our dog, was exhausted and retired to her crate.

Who could ask for anything more? Not me. I am grateful for this wonderful life of mine. What are you grateful for?

Spring Bunnies and Two Fab Giveaways

Tammy has had her creative cap on! She has made some wonderfully sparkly, white bunnies for your Easter table. Hop on over to Twigs and Feathers and grab yourself one.

Two of my favorite bloggers are having giveaways!!

Julie of Prairie Thistle Life is giving away an amazing Madonna and child reliquary that she made herself. Julie has a great blog and a great online store. She makes wonderful jewelry, and who doesn't love jewelry?

Tracey over at French Larkspur is giving away the Jeanne D'Arc Living gardening book Franske Fornemmelse. As a bonus, she's throwing in some goodies of her own.

If you win, come back and tell me. If I win, I'll tell you!!
