I've Landed!

Just a quick update. We left for Maine on Monday. It was an excrutiatingly long drive, with 2 cats and 2 kids. When we finally arrived around 7:30 pm, it was snowing.

Tuesday STUNK- no two ways about it. We did our walk through and found lots of water in the laundry room- enough to soak the subfloor and lift the tiles off. Oh, a dehumidifier and a heater will fix it- the owner's realtor says. Suffice it to say the 1. he wasn't that bright, and 2. I almost grew fangs and ripped his head off. Finally, the funds came through after 6 hours and we signed the papers. Then we headed over and emptied the u-haul.

We set up the mattresses on the living room floor, and we all slept there.

Wednesday is snowed- BIG TIME- like 10 inches. God help me, I was ready to just lay down and hibernate. BUT- as of today, one POD emptied, house full of stuff. NOT A SINGLE thing doesn't leak, every sink... Filthy. Filthy. Filthy.

BUT OURS.

Back later- xoxo

Wow, it's a tough time of year to go through all that, but a little warmth and 'mommy magic and you will create some great memories. What an adventure.

Can't wait to see some sneak peeks, but I know, it takes a lot of work just to unpack!

I am so sorry to hear about all the problems. This is such a stressful time of year and then a move on top of it- yikes!! We moved to Colorado 2 years ago in November and that was more time then you have to get ready for Christmas- I only had time for a little tree to get put up"!!

I will pray that things will go better for you and that you will be restful and even joyful in the midst of it all!

Blessings

Now I see why I told you about the snow. And holy moley, you the laundry room was obviously a lake!?

You deserve some chocolate. That's all there is to it.

I remember moving from South Carolina back to the Midwest, with a kitty in a cage that just about drove me bonkers with the incessant MEOW - MEOW - MEOW, it got so bad that I pulled into a truck stop and purchased No Doze and Nytol...the clerk gave me a funny look and I told him that the No Doze was for me and the Nytol was for my cat and grabbed the containers and headed to my car.

I crammed the Nytol tablet into some cheese from a cheese and crackers packet and stuffed it down the cat's throat and pulled back onto the highway with my teeth clenched and my knuckles white on the wheel. I'm sure I looked like a crazy person....who could blame me, really?

I was traveling alone with a little kid and a crazy cat because hubby was off working...I remember thinking....isn't that convenient!

It took a bit for the Nytol to kick in, but the peace and quiet was heavenly for the remainder of the day. Of course, that night at the hotel the cat was jumping off the walls from being cooped up in a cage all day and being drugged with Nytol.

So, I feel your pain....xo Julie
